Hours: 8:45 AM - 4:45 PM, Monday - Friday (Term Time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver clear, high-quality engineering lessons tailored to students' needs
  • Set clear targets for student learning and track progress effectively
  • Consider and address the special educational needs of students
  • Develop expert knowledge in relevant subjects
  • Assess student work and provide regular feedback to inform teaching
  • Prioritise reading to enhance student fluency, confidence, and enjoyment
  • Maintain a stimulating, safe learning environment
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policy
  • Contribute to pastoral and support roles as needed
  • Attend school events and contribute to wider school life
  • Take responsibility for professional development and engage with performance management activities
  • Handle administrative tasks and paperwork efficiently

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Teaching experience preferred but not required (e.g., FE college, adult education, apprenticeship training)
  • Alternatively, candidates with industry experience who demonstrate the necessary skills and passion to teach SEN students will be considered
  • Willingness to undergo teacher training to gain qualifications if necessary
  • Practical engineering skills and experience, with expertise in areas such as welding, metalwork, car maintenance, etc.
