Location – Fareham

Hours - 8:00am – 4:00pm Temporary full-time

Our esteemed institution is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join our committed team starting September 2024.

Overview:

Supply Desk is currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Geography Teacher to join a Secondary School based in Fareham from September 2024. This is a temporary full-time position with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role. The successful candidate will teach Geography to students in KS3 and KS4 within a supportive department. The School strongly encourages ECT's for Geography and Humanities to apply and will also consider overseas trained Geography teachers that are looking to gain QTS in the UK. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Geography lessons to foster students' understanding of the world and its processes.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment tailored to the diverse needs of students.
  • Utilise effective teaching strategies to enhance students' geographical knowledge and skills.
  • Assess students' understanding and progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and participate in extracurricular geography activities.

Situated in Fareham, the school is a mixed Secondary School that caters to students aged 11 to 16, with approximately 1,200 students. The School prioritise promoting a deep appreciation for geographical concepts and fostering an environment of exploration and discovery. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography or related field (required)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
  • Proven experience teaching Geography to secondary school students
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
