Level 3 Practitioner

Are you a dedicated and passionate Level 3 practitioner looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children?

The school is in search of an experienced Level 3 practitioner to join their team, tasked with fulfilling two distinct roles throughout the working day.

Initially, you will assist in the pre-school setting, supporting the afternoon class, from 12.00 until 3.00pm.

You will work closely with the nursery team to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and develop essential skills for life. And to provide a stimulating environment with endless learning opportunities for the young children to explore, and where every child's potential is valued and supported.

Later in the day, you will transition to overseeing the school's wraparound care program for children requiring afterschool supervision from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This involves organizing age-appropriate activities, providing nutritious snacks, and ensuring a joyful and fulfilling experience for the children until they depart for home.

To apply please contact Alexandra at Smart Education.

Your Key Responsibilities as a Level 3 Pre-school practitioner:

  • Child Care and Supervision: You will provide high-quality care and supervision to children in the nursery, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. The nursery assistant will engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, and play to promote their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. You will be expected to foster positive relationships with children, building trust and rapport to support their individual needs and interests.

  • Curriculum Implementation: Your role is to assist in implementing the nursery's curriculum, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, to provide a holistic approach to children's learning and development. To be an active part in planning and preparing engaging activities and resources that are developmentally appropriate and tailored to the needs and interests of the children. It’s is important for you to support children's language and communication skills through storytelling, songs, and interactive play.

  • Observation and Assessment: You are required to observe and assess children's progress, interests, and development, documenting observations and maintaining accurate records in line with statutory requirements. You will use assessment information to inform planning and adapt activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of each child. You will need to communicate children's progress and achievements to parents and colleagues, fostering positive partnerships and involvement in children's learning.

  • Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team is a key part of this role, sharing ideas, resources, and best practices to enhance the nursery's provision and support children's learning and development. You will support the nursery manager and senior staff in maintaining a positive and inclusive ethos within the nursery, promoting equality, diversity, and respect for all.

Your key responsibilities as a Level 3 wraparound care supervisor:

  • Supervision and Safety: You will supervise children during their time at the afterschool club, always ensuring their safety. You will ensure and maintain appropriate adult-to-child ratios as per regulatory requirements. You must monitor children's activities to prevent accidents and ensure adherence to club rules and guidelines.

  • Activity Planning and Implementation: You are required to contribute to planning and organise a variety of age-appropriate activities and games to engage children and promote their development. You will need to ensure that activities cater to different interests and abilities, fostering a fun and inclusive environment for all age groups. You must facilitate structured and unstructured play opportunities, encouraging creativity, social interaction, and physical activity.

  • Behaviour Management: You are required to implement positive behaviour management strategies to promote a respectful and cooperative atmosphere. You will need to address any disruptive behaviour promptly and effectively, using appropriate disciplinary measures as necessary.
