About this client/child: Our fabulous client Sara is 11-year-old, a bubbly, energetic and confident young lady, who Snap Care have had the pleasure of working with her for several years. Sara lives at home with her Mum, Dad and two younger sisters in Chislehurst and has a small, dedicated care team to assist her in daily life. Sara has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and is a wheelchair user. Sara enjoys a blended diet, and has a PEG in-situ for fluids, medication and to top up her nutrition if required. Sara has adapted her own communication modes using her body language, facial expressions, and sounds. Sara has a wide range of hobbies and interests, but top of her list is horse riding, listening to music and sensory play.

Overview of role: Sara requires support with her afterschool routine, which includes collecting her from school, preparing snacks, assistance to participate in extra-curricular activities, support with her personal care and implementing therapy (training provided by her therapists). You’ll facilitate Sara’s role as a big sister, enable her to play with her siblings, and participate in all aspects of family life. This position will involve providing 2:1 support at times, and you will receive bespoke person-centered training. There is more scope to plan and arrange exciting activities during school holidays. There is flexibility on the 3 days worked for the successful SEN Support Worker / PA works, however, once agreed, these days will be set days each week, or planned at least 4 weeks in advance. £16.00 Weekdays, £18.00 Weekends, Gross per Hour

Who this job would suit: A proactive, reliable, and caring, *female SEN Support Worker / PA. For this position you must have some experience supporting a young client with a physical disability and with manual handling. A confident driver (automatic driver) is essential to assist with school runs and outings.
