Job Duties:
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to secondary school students
  • Follow the school curriculum and lesson plans provided
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and exams
  • Provide feedback to students, parents, and school staff on student performance
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences
Required Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching environments and age groups
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a secondary school setting

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and educational policies
  • Effective classroom management techniques
  • Differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Evaluation and assessment methods
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Experience with remote teaching or online learning platforms
  • Additional subject specialisms or qualifications
Working Conditions:
  • Part-Time hours, typically covering absences or temporary staff shortages
  • Varied teaching environments in different schools within the area
  • Collaborative work with school staff, students, and parents
