Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 (Plus £2,539 SEND allowance)

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Start Date:  Sept 2024 (or sooner depending on successful candidate’s availability)

About the role

Vision for Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming SEND school in Nuneaton who, due to school expansion, are seeking to recruit a Teacher of English for a permanent vacancy.  We welcome applications from teachers with SEND education experience and/or mainstream teachers looking to transition into SEND education.

The main purpose of the role is to provide inspirational and outstanding teaching whilst nurturing a safe, secure, and caring educational environment.  The role will comprise of planning and teaching English lessons across a Key Stages 3 & 4.

The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching learners with SEND (predominantly ASC) and will form part of a staff team who put young people at the heart of everything they do.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Planning and delivery of high-quality teaching & learning that follows the national curriculum
  • Meet the pastoral needs of young people
  • Form positive relationships with young people, parents/carers, and colleagues
  • Show pro-active commitment to continuing personal professional development
  • Meeting the individual educational needs of young people

The school provides education for young people aged 11 to 17 that have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and often associated social, emotional, & mental health needs.

They believe all children and young people are entitled to a nurturing environment that demonstrates care, empathy, and support in order to help young people identify positive aspects of their everyday lives. 

Requirements include:

  • Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS
  • Experience working with young people with SEND / ASC (desirable)
  • The ability to engage and motivate young people
  • Understanding multi agency working and collaboration with parents/carers
  • A passion for making a difference to the lives and education of young people with SEND
