Pertemps Education are looking to offer a Full Time (leading to Permanent) opportunity at one of our partnered Independent SEN Schools in Suffolk based just out of Cambridge towards Haverhill. Have you got an affinity to work alongside pupils with a range of complex, neurological, or social needs? Are you available Monday to Friday and looking to build a new career, or move across an industry to put your skills to hands on, practical use?

This Independent School, based near Haverhill and Sudbury, focus on a range of therapeutic resources and outdoor based accesses to education for pupils with a range of special education needs (SEN). This would include those on the Autism Spectrum (ASD), Speech and Language barriers, Sensory & Visual difficulties, as well as young boys who are based in the school permanently as Residents in Care. 

The post is designed to prioritise a pastoral & nurturing approach to supporting small groups of young boys between primary & secondary ages - seeking to understand them on an emotional level and as an individual learners - whilst working as a team alongside your various colleagues to provide the best possible outcome & opportunity. This is both a 1 to 1 support and teaching post, with maximum 3 to 1 lessons for a school that is built up of only 30 current pupils. 

This would be Monday to Fridays, typically 8:3 to 16:30. We are open to candidates are looking for long term or Permanent roles, must be full time. You will have your own tailored timetable, free lunches, many free periods, the chance to take breaks when you need to, and explore the Cambridgeshire countryside which are school is built into. 
 
This school also offers a pathway to Teacher Training and QTS accreditation for those who wish to pursue this career after starting within specialist support, so this is an excellent perk to take advantage of.

We offer both Primary & Secondary & Care provisions on site, so if you have a preference of what age group you like working with, it is likely that we can accommodate this request. 

The ideal Pertemps candidate would be:

- Available within the next 2 weeks
- Looking for Full Time (and ideally a Permanent or Long Term) role within SEN education 
- Shares a passionate interest for Special Needs or Social Care & Support
- Available to visit the school site over the next 2 week period
- 2 years’ worth of recent references ready to provide
- In ownership of an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS certificate (we can process one for you if not)
- Have access to their own personal vehicle 
- Be looking to build a career path within SEND Education
- Academic background in Childhood or SEND Studies/Psychology/Criminology/Sociology 
- Graduates very welcome, but experience working with children is desirable 
- Experience with SEN (Personal or Employment based experience) including; Autism, Trisomy 21, ADHD, Dyslexia, Challenging Behaviour, Neurological disorder, Residential & Social Care

We are offering a weekly agency rate of £451.25. This is paid via Umbrella Payroll on a weekly basis during term time.

All candidates who commence as agency members of staff have a 100% success rate in going Permanent.
The salary offer at this point would be approximately £17.5-£19.5per year (with access to over 12 weeks of paid school holidays).

The role would commence under agency for an ongoing period of time. Some agency staff have been at the school for over a year, but most choose to join the school permanent as soon as possible, to benefit from pay across all holiday periods.
