Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive team in Wandsworth. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and empowering students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN in various subjects.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailor lessons to meet specific learning needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and respected.
  • Assist students with daily tasks and personal care when required.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to support positive student behavior.
  • Offer emotional and pastoral support, helping students build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Utilize assistive technology and adaptive resources to enhance the learning experience for students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with SEN is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to working with students.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and development in SEN.
  • Basic knowledge of educational technology and resources for SEN support.
