Primary School Intervention Teacher - Welwyn Garden City

As an Intervention Teacher, you will play a crucial role in identifying and addressing the specific learning needs of students, ensuring they receive the tailored support required to reach their full potential.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Intervention Teacher to join a lovely team and lead targeted intervention programs for students who require additional support in key areas of their learning. Working closely with classroom teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other support staff, you will design and deliver effective interventions to help students overcome barriers to learning and make progress academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify students who would benefit from intervention based on assessment data, teacher observations, and input from parents/carers.
  • Develop and implement personalized intervention plans tailored to the specific needs of individual students, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional well-being.
  • Deliver small group or one-on-one intervention sessions using evidence-based teaching strategies and resources.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting intervention plans as necessary to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention activities with the broader curriculum and provide ongoing feedback on student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, keeping them informed about their child's intervention program and progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions, assessments, and student outcomes in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • QTS & proven track record of implementing successful intervention strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong understanding of primary curriculum frameworks and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and respond to emerging challenges.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and the promotion of equality and diversity in education.
