My client, a high-achieving Independent Alternative Provision with sports specialism, is looking for an inspirational Principal to lead the growth and continued development of the organisation. The role will be highly rewarding, allowing you the autonomy to work with a small and committed staff team to help students learn to flourish in an environment that prides itself on the highest standards for all.
You will be a strong, confident leader with either a teaching or business background. The successful candidate will enjoy working with the CEO to build on the school’s existing foundation, enthusiasm, and ethos to create an exciting future for the school and its students.
The role:
- Establish and sustain the school’s ethos and strategic direction together with the Advisory Board and CEO and through consultation with the school community
- Review, consolidate and oversee systems, processes, and policies so the school can operate effectively
- In consultation with CEO and Advisory Board, identify problems and barriers to school effectiveness, and develop strategies for school improvement that are realistic, timely and suited to the school’s context
- Ensure that school improvement strategies are effectively implemented and that the school is making progress towards achieving its aims and objectives
- Manage the school’s resources, including financial, premises and the team appropriately, efficiently, and effectively
- Assist CEO and Advisory Board in strategic development and expansion of the academy, including securing new premises and enhancing student recruitment
You will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
- At least 3 years' experience of successful leadership within a similar school environment
- Participated in school self-evaluation and development planning
- Demonstrable experience of successful line management, performance management and staff development.
- Experience of positive behaviour management within a challenging setting
- Held safeguarding responsibility at leadership level as a DSL or DDSL
- An NPQH (or equivalent) or be working towards
