SEMH Class Teacher

As an SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding students who require additional assistance due to various challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere, implementing tailored teaching strategies, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure each student's unique needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons: Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, considering their individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment: Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages positive behaviour, respect, and emotional well-being.
  • Individualized support: Provide one-on-one support and small group interventions to address academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other educators, support staff, and external agencies to create comprehensive support plans for students.
  • Progress monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to maximize individual learning outcomes.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of student progress and any challenges.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a PRU or similar educational setting in the UK is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies is essential.
  • Ability to develop and implement differentiated teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Right to Work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
