We are currently working with a charming village primary school in Launceston, UK, to recruit a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child within their school community.

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant with previous experience working in a similar role, particularly within a primary school setting in the UK. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to initially join Teaching Personnel on a full-time permanent basis, with the potential for transitioning to a direct contract with the school for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one support to a child with special educational needs
  • Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and completing tasks
  • Implement strategies outlined in the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support the child's progress
  • Maintain accurate records of the child's progress and development

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs
  • UK-based school experience is essential
  • Must hold a valid DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to undergo a new one
  • Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
