SEN Teaching Assistant Role Mainstream Primary School in Southwark, London

Tradewind are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in the heart of Southwark, London. This term-time only position starts in May 2024 and runs Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 3:30pm, until the end of the academic year in July 2024. There is the potential to continue in September 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within mainstream classroom settings.
  • Work closely with class teachers to implement individual education plans and support strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth for all students.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to ensure the holistic development of students with SEN.
  • Engage in regular communication with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on support strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN preferred but not essential.
  • Possession of relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all students.
