The School and Role

Here at Vision for Education, we are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) teaching assistant to join our specialized PMLD school based in the Chatham area. As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with profound and multiple learning difficulties. This Ofsted "GOOD" rated school are very passionate about PMLD and ensuring the offer the best PMLD assistance for their pupils. 

Requirements 

The desired Teaching Assistant will have; 

• Relevant experience working with individuals with profound and multiple learning difficulties, preferably in an educational or care setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of students with complex needs.
• Knowledge and understanding of various communication strategies and assistive technology used in PMLD settings.
• Familiarity with the principles of person-centered care and the ability to adapt to the individual needs and preferences of each student.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish effective relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Basic knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, with a commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of all students
