SEND Tribunal Officer

Location - Local Authority in Southeast England

Salary: £400 - £450 per day

Contract: Initial 3–6-month contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.

Schedule – 5 days per week

Fully remote working

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a local authority in Southeast England to support with the recruitment of a SEND Tribunal Officer.


As a SEND Tribunal officer you will work as part of the Tribunals Team to defend Local Authority decisions before the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST). The SEN Tribunals Officer will be the formal representative of the Local Authority for any cases that progress to oral hearings.

In order to be successful in this role:

  • You will need significant experience working as a SEND Tribunal Officer for a local authority previously.
  • Have represented at Hearings on behalf of the local authority.
  • Have expert knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and SEND legislation.
