Job Title: SEN Lecturer - Special Educational Needs College (SEN) - Southwark

Location: Southwark, London

 

Are you a passionate and dedicated Lecturer with experience in teaching students with Special Needs? We are recruiting for a leading SEN College in Southwark who are looking for a SEN Lecturer. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students aged 16-25 with Special Needs, working at pre-entry level.

You will be delivering a curriculum based on the four Preparing for Adulthood pathways- Good Health, Independent Living, Employment and Friends, Relationships and the  Community. A large part of learning  takes place in a variety of community based settings.

This is a full-time, long term role with a view to going permanent and will be to start as soon as possible. The salary will be equal to the Lecturers’ pay scale plus SEN points.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with ASD at pre-entry level.
  • Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities within the student body.
  • Provide individualised support to students.
  • Implement strategies to enhance communication and social skills development.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
  • Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to student development.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (QTLS, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Specialisation in ASD education and experience working with students at pre-entry level.
  • Knowledge of diverse teaching methods and adaptive strategies for students with Special Needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusivity and fostering a positive learning environment.
