Job Description:

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Mentor for a number of opportunities in Warrington. The Learning Mentor will play a key role in providing support and guidance to students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, focusing on academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Experince of working with yougsters with learning difficulties, ASD and SEMH essential
  • Build positive relationships with students, offering encouragement, motivation, and guidance.
  • Identify barriers to learning and develop strategies to address them, including providing additional support and resources as needed.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized support plans for students.
  • Monitor and track student progress, and communicate regularly with teachers, parents/guardians, and other relevant parties.
  • Support students in developing study skills, organization, and time management skills.
  • Provide support during transition periods, such as starting a new school year or moving to a new school.
  • Collaborate with other members of the support team, including learning support assistants, counselors, and special education teachers.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Mentor or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support students in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond effectively to the diverse needs of students.
