About school and role:

A small, friendly primary school located in the Rochdale area is seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. This role involves working closely with pupils on a 1-1 basis, requiring someone with prior experience in a similar position. As an integral member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs, helping them develop emotionally and providing strategies to manage triggers effectively.

Key responsibilities:

  • Encourage students to interact with their peers and participate in group activities
  • Provide 1-1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs
  • Prepare materials tailored to the individual needs of each child and provide constructive feedback

Requirements:

  • Resilience and adaptability to handle the challenges inherent in the role
  • Ability to foster peer interaction and group work among students
  • Patience and flexibility to navigate the dynamic nature of the job
  • Recent experience in similar roles working with children
  • Genuine desire to contribute to a dedicated team of educational professionals.
