Are you an experienced SEN Teacher or Lead Teacher looking for work in Leicester?

Winner Education are seeking for a Site Lead Teacher on behalf of one of our clients who provide independent special educational needs school placements and are market leaders in alternative provision in Leicester. This role is a full-time permanent position to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate must have previous experience within SEN support, and you must enjoy working with children you support and strive to ensure each child can achieve their true potential.

SALARY: £33,000 - £37,000

LOCATION: Ilkeston, Derbyshire 

HOURS: Full time (Monday – Friday)

START DATE: ASAP

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Implement an appropriate balance, relevant and differentiated curriculum to cater for learners through individual and small group delivery
  • Be flexible and innovative with planning and lesson delivery
  • Build positive relationships with learners
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of learners
  • Encourage and facilitate a stimulating learning environment to enable each learner to achieve their full potential
  • Contribute to raising the standards of learner attainment
  • Deliver an education provision to include the attention of health and safety awareness, risk management and safeguarding young people
  • Liaise with multiple agencies as and when required
  • Encourage family involvement of decision making and the management of learner programmes
  • Conduct assessment, preparation, delivery and reviews of learner progresses
  • Lesson planning with relation to individual learner programmes across a range of subjects
  • Inform the designated Learning Manager of any accidents or risks
  • Support the Learning Manager with completion of all pupil assessments, tracking documents, progress reports, feedback reports, learner profiles, pen pictures, risk management procedures, EHCP’s, KS3 & KS4 transition planning and post-16 opportunities
  • Seek advice from subject leads when required
  • Provide a dynamic and professional leadership and management style to reflect the schools vision

The successful Site Lead Teacher must:

  • Be flexible and innovative
  • Have at last two years experience working with SEN children, young people or vulnerable adults within an education setting
  • Demonstrate experience of working with and developing effective resources for young people with additional needs
  • Hold a relevant Level 6 qualification (You will need to produce evidence of previous curriculum specific CPD)
  • Demonstrate the passion to ensure each school develops a positive impact on each child
  • Have previous experience working in a SEND or alternative provision school
  • Be inspirational and empower learners, especially those with complex needs and SEN
  • Provide an environment which will make a real difference to the lives of young people
  • Hold key values and ethos of Trust, Innovation and Achievement
