Teaching Personnel is currently looking for a dedicated Youth Worker to join an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted-graded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in Wigan. This is a full-time position that is available for an immediate start, running until the end of the academic year. Successful performance may lead to a permanent contract offer.

Position Overview:

  • Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 4 students at Wigan PRU.
  • Many students have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • The ideal candidate should be confident managing disruptive behaviour.
  • Responsibilities include working one-on-one with students, providing interventions and pastoral support during lessons and breaks.
  • This role may involve working with students who have been temporarily withdrawn from lessons, focusing on reengagement and academic progress in challenging circumstances.
