Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive educational community at a SEN secondary school in Bolton BL2. The curriculum is underpinned by the belief that every student deserves an education that not only challenges them but also supports their individual learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with moderate to profound and multiple learning difficulties (MLD, SLD, PMLD).
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised learning pathways and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, enabling all students to thrive academically and personally.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and multi-agency partners to support student progress and well-being.
  • Facilitate access to a variety of experiences within the school and local community, promoting lifelong learning and independence.
  • Empower students to communicate their wants, needs, and desires effectively.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
  • Understanding of the diverse needs associated with MLD, SLD, PMLD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with complex learning needs.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development opportunities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
