Overview:
Are you passionate about the power of language and literature to transform lives? We're looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join our dedicated team at a SEND school in Waterlooville. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly focusing on those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. While experience with SEMH and ASC is advantageous, it's not essential – what truly matters is your commitment to inclusive education and your desire to positively impact the lives of children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH requirements.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Collaborate closely with support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and effectively address specific learning needs.
  • Utilize effective behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with students, parents, and external support agencies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience or specialization in SEMH education is beneficial.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to implement effective behavior management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
