An exceptional leadership opportunity awaits at our small independent special school in Uxbridge. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced SEND Teacher with expertise in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our dedicated team on a permanent basis, with the added responsibility of leading and guiding our SEND provision.

As a SEND Teacher with Lead Responsibility, you will not only deliver tailored support to students with SEMH but also provide direction and mentorship to colleagues within the SEND department. Your role will be pivotal in shaping and enhancing our SEND provision, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of personalized support plans for students with SEMH, ensuring that individual needs are met effectively.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues within the SEND department, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social and emotional well-being for all students with SEND.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in our SEND provision.
  • Utilize effective behavior management strategies to create a conducive learning environment for students with SEMH.
  • Act as a key liaison between the SEND department, parents, external professionals, and the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with specialized experience in teaching children with SEMH.
  • Proven track record of successful engagement with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and nurturing educational environment for students with SEND.
