TeacherActive is happy to be working with schools in Huddersfield that support vulnerable children that have Special Needs ranging from Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

As a SEND Teacher you will be working with students, which may include outdoor activities and many ways of teaching and supporting children. You will develop and be supported in delivering engaging lessons tailored to each individual students abilities. The role will include delierving an egaging curriculum and requires a Teacher who is creative and caring in their approach.

The schools we work with are looking for dedicated SEN Teachers that can fill day to day, short term and long term placements. This is a valuable opportunity to extend your SEND/SEMH experience and help make a different in these young people’s lives. You will be working with a dedicated SEND Consultant that will be choosing placements that suit your availability, preference and skills to find the right fit for you.

The successful SEN Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status, 6 months previous SEND experience
• Team Teach
• Excellent communication skills  
• Be calm, caring and resilient
• Experienced with challenging behaviour
• Effective communication with members of internal staff
