Randstad Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Science Teacher for various roles across Cheshire West and Chester. The roles available range from day-to-day supply to long-term placements, dependant on what you're looking for. Experience working with Secondary age children is essential for this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Clarifying and explaining instructions,
  • Motivating and encouraging the pupil(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils' needs,
  • Assisting in weaker areas, e.g. speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy,
    handwriting/presentation etc,
  • Using praise, commentary and assistance to encourage the pupil to concentrate and stay
    on task,
  • Liaising with class teacher, Inclusion Manager and other professionals about Education
    and Health Care Plans (EHCP), contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate,
  • Providing additional nurture to individuals when requested by the class teacher or
    Inclusion Manager,
  • Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies,
  • Helping to make appropriate resources to support the pupil,
  • Supporting differentiation and feedback to class teacher.

Requirements:

  • Ensure your CV covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained,
  • Be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and full referencing process,
  • Level 2 or 3 NCFE or CACHE,
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum (2014) and Development Matters Framework (2021),
  • Have a flexible, can-do approach,
  • Provide professional references to cover you for at least 12 months within the last 2 years,
  • Have legal right to work in the UK.
