Teaching Assistant Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning  to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and SENCO to provide individualized support to students with special educational needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and contribute to their overall development and success.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and personalized learning strategies.
  • support students in accessing the curriculum, participating in classroom activities, and completing tasks.
  • foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student growth and achievement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • promote independence and self-confidence in students by encouraging and reinforcing positive behaviors and skills development.
  • maintain accurate records of student progress and participation, as well as any interventions or support provided.
  • communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns or questions.

Teaching assistant requirements:

  • previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is desirable but not essential.
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of all students.
  • ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from teachers and SENCO.
  • flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
