SEN education or care experience is desirable

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of Randstad's partnership schools in Watford. You will be supporting a key child in Key Stage 1 who has some special educational needs, including ADHD, providing essential assistance to ensure their academic and personal development. This role is full-time but the hours can be flexible for the right candidate.

Responsibilities of your 1:1 TA role:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the designated student throughout the school day
  • Assist with academic tasks and activities, ensuring they are tailored to the individual needs of the child
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the student, promoting their well-being
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on the child's progress and any concerns

Requirements of your 1:1 TA role:

  • Previous experience in childcare is essential
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly ADHD, is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs
  • Flexibility in working hours (08:30-15:30), with potential for adjustment for the right candidate
