The school cater for students from 5 to 11 years old with complex needs, including moderate and severe learning disabilities (MLD/SLD). The curriculum is highly personalised and creative, they aim to develop pupil voice throughout all the activities and lessons.

The school are looking for a Art Specialist, you will be working in the Art room with a range of ages and needs. It is important that you not only have experience working with SEN but also have a basic knowledge and love for Art.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting within the Art classroom
• Collaborating with teachers and other staff to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students
• Assisting with communication needs and promoting positive behaviour
• Supporting students with physical and emotional needs

Essential requirements:

• Experience supporting young people with special needs, ASC / MLD / SLD
• Previous support work, TA or LSA work within a school or other child related experience.
• Enthusiastic, positive and friendly approach.
• A caring and professional manner, willing to support with the personal care of pupils.
• Must have legal right to work in the UK.
