Specialist Teaching Assistant

We are currently hiring for a specialist school in Leatherhead that provides a carefully curated curriculum for pupils aged 2-19.

All pupils have either an EHCP, statement of special educational needs or are currently under assessment.  The pupils have severe learning difficulties, very complex needs, or autism.

Salary:

£83 - £95 per day (part-time and full-time available opportunities available)

Job Duties:
  • Supporting the classroom teacher in delivering educational activities
  • Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
  • Providing one-to-one support for students with special educational needs
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting students in their learning and social development
  • Providing some levels of personal care 
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting or with SEN preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Understanding of child development and learning processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Patience and empathy

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
