Behaviour/learning mentor - the role
We are currently working with a large Pupil referral unit that is looking to grow its mentoring team over the next few months. This school have seen an increase in students due to exclusions across the borough and want to find the best role models to help make an impact and mentor students to get them reaching their full potential. The role would see you working as a behaviour mentor with SEMH. Sometimes with students on a 1:1 basis but also in small group settings and doing outreach while having a big focus on utilising your skills as a route to de-escalating and managing behavioural needs.
The Pupil referral unit -
The unit is a part of the boroughs inclusion service and work directly with the mainstream schools across South West London to provide a high education for those young people with SEMH needs. As stated previously, they provide outreach services and a safe learning environment for those excluded from their mainstream school.
