Career Teachers are looking to appoint an experienced Science Technician for a Birmingham based secondary school on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible (Term-time only).


As a science technician, you will be required to work as part of a team and report to the Senior Science Technician. Your duties will include preparation of stock solutions and maintaining glassware in classrooms, preparing practical lessons prior to lessons and delivering to the classrooms, general up-keep of Science Technician laboratory, carrying out regular health and safety checks on laboratories, preparation rooms and stores and provide technical support and health and safety advice to staff and students, assisting the administration team with ensuring all pupil data is kept up to date, implementing procedures and regulations involving safe disposal of waste material.


To be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of One-year experience as a Science Technician within a school setting and have a sound knowledge of all science areas, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It is essential that you hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or willing to undertake a new one, have up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer a FREE online Safeguarding training course, and be able to provide a full 10-year career history and references to cover the last 2 years including current and previous employers.
