Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in the Portsmouth area, who are seeking an enthusiastic teacher of geography to join a friendly and supportive Humanties team from April. This is an exciting opportunity to join a strong team of specialist staff within an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school on a full-time basis. 

We are looking for a Geography Teacher who embodies confidence, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching. The ideal candidate should be capable of planning for students from a variety of backgrounds and abilities, inspiring them to reach their full potential. You should have a solid knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, and behaviour management strategies and be able to adapt them to motivate students. A successful track record of positive impact upon student outcomes is essential, along with excellent subject knowledge. You should have a commitment to sharing best practise with colleagues in the department and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and enthusiastic practitioner who can inspire students and help us to raise attainment within this curriculum area.

Requirements:

  • Experience of delivering Geography GCSE
  • Suitable school-based references
  • Up to date DBS with the Update Service/be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS
  • Willingness to undertake CPD and contribute to the wider school life
  • Degree level education
  • Hold QTS (or an equivalent qualification)
