Are you a passionate ART teacher able to create a love of learning among young people in a classroom?

PK Education are recruiting a Secondary School ART Teacher for a large sized secondary school located in the Birmingham area. This role requires an enthusiastic teacher with a positive attitude to teach GCSE and A- level classes on a full-time basis (5 days per week). The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work with a fantastic team in a welcoming environment.

This is a comprehensive 11-18 school and sixth form that caters to children from differemnt backgrounds and abilities. The school require candidates to have extensive curriculum knowledge and experience in a similar role. The school has a strong leadership team in place supporting the improvement of attainment levels.

The role of a ART Teacher is diverse and challenging but also very rewarding. As a ART Teacher in a secondary school, you will be managing student behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures, as well as supporting students in undertaking learning activities across the curriculum.

This ART role is suitable For: NQT’s, training teachers, retired teachers, those wanting to network/gain exposure with new schools.

  • Responsibilities:

As a ART Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ART department and ensuring the smooth operation of our classrooms. Your responsibilities will include:

    •  Plan work in accordance with departmental schemes of work and national curriculum programmes of study.
    •  Take account of pupils’ prior levels of attainment and use them to set future targets.
    • Set work when required for absent pupils.
    • Maintain good discipline by following the school’s pupil disciplinary policies and procedures.
    • Establish a purposeful working atmosphere during all learning activities.
    • Set appropriate and challenging work for all pupils

Requirements:

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual who meets the following requirements:

Experience:

    • Previous experience in a related field is highly desired.
    • Passion for ART: An interest in ART and Design and a willingness to engage with students to foster their enthusiasm for the subject.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and maintaining ART equipment and machinery.
    • Health and Safety: Knowledge of health and safety procedures and the ability to enforce them rigorously.
    • Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and students.
    • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to manage resources efficiently.
    • Flexible: Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of the ART department and the school.
    • Enhanced DBS Check: A successful candidate must undergo an enhanced DBS check before starting the role.
