SEN Teaching Assistant roles

Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our SEN Provisions in the South Manchester area to support the learning and development of students with a range of  diverse and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.

-          Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities.

-          Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.

-          Help students develop essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and academic progress.

-          Collaborate with other staff members, including teachers, therapists, and support professionals, to ensure the holistic development of students.

-          Monitor and record student progress, behaviours, and achievements, and provide feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians.

-          Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies to promote positive learning experiences.

Qualifications and Skills:

-          Previous experience working with children with SEN is preferred but not essential.

-          Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-          Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.

-          Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

-          Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.

-          Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special education is desirable.
