Noah is always up for a laugh and great fun to be around. He can have moments of stubbornness; Noah has limited expressive language, so can be frustrated at times either when he doesn’t want to do something or is trying to be understood. He adores being out and about and there are great places, clubs, activities available in his local area and beyond. At home, he loves baking, or being in the garden where he has a fab swing and trampoline. Noah has Cerebral Palsy affecting all four limbs.  He is a full-time wheelchair user, requires personal care. He has epilepsy which is controlled.  Most of his nutrition is via his PEG but he does have a blended diet – and he loves food. At school he uses an Eye Gaze, and this is being introduced at home. Noah can, and will make his needs known, by the word ‘yeah’ or, physically pushing things or people away.

Overview of role: This is a 2-1 role so a real ‘Team Noah’ affair. The morning shift begins early as Noah requires time to wake up and get ready for school. School transport picks him up at 8.45 am.  During school holidays, Noah and his family want fun-packed days planned. Term-time: Friday, 05.45 am to 08.45 am and then 4.30 pm to 8.30 pm. During holidays, available days and hours: Monday to Friday, 08.00 am to 8.30 pm.

Who this job would suit: You will come into this role with plenty of energy and enthusiasm. Noah is a typical 11 year old boy who could happily sit in front of the T.V for hours at a time, but knowing he is going to be taken out to do fun, exciting activities, he will be raring to go! He loves people and will form a very strong bond with those he trusts and loves. The continuity of his care is vital, so please consider carefully before applying.

What’s great about this job: You will be joining a small but dedicated team; you will have continuous support from your colleagues. There is a comprehensive on-boarding process, with on-going support from Noah’s case manager, and his lovely family. If you want to continue making a difference in supporting an incredible, voraciously determined young boy, then please do apply.
