Classroom Support are excited to be working with a Mainstream School in the Lewisham area.

We are recruiting on their behalf for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a KS2 child with Autism.

The school has had a good Ofsted rating in the past two academic years and is under new leadership, and is a highly rewarding environment in which the impact you have will have will be vital to the child’s progress.

There is a highly competitive rate of pay between £425 - £475 per week, for working hours of 8.30am-3.30pm.

Working days are Monday-Friday term time only.

Requirements of the role are:

• Supporting a child with Autism in a 1:1 setting.
• Using your experience of effective behaviour management, being particularly understanding due to the child’s background history. The child needs somebody with a calming nature as they can be physically aggressive.
• Support the child with relevant resources and daily planning, this includes making them feel comfortable, (organising their daily belongings) for example, helping the child to integrate with others is also key even though you are mainly working in a 1:1 setting.
• Must have had previous experience of working in a classroom setting, and specifically with a child with Autism.
• Additionally, fulfilling any required duties defined by the class teacher.
