A large, welcoming academy in Edgware are looking for a qualified Primary teacher to join their school for the summer term to provide PPA and class cover across the primary school.

The Role

In this role you will be covering classes predominately across Reception and Key Stage 1 and some at Key Stage 2. You will provide class teachers cover for planning preparation and assessment. You will work with class teachers to arrange what is required for each lesson. For the most part the planning will be provided, although you may have some input in certain classes/subjects. You should have experience teaching across all primary year groups and have good curriculum knowledge and a positive approach to classroom management.

The week will be made up of the following schedule. The school are ideally looking for a PPA teacher for 5 days a week, but could accommodate a part-time teacher from Tuesday to Thursday.

  • Monday – PPA
  • Tuesday – Year 1
  • Wednesday – Reception
  • Thursday – Year 1
  • Friday – PPA

The Academy

This large all-through academy is based in Edgware, with good local transport links and a popular choice for families in the local area. Alongside their main Secondary academy they have created a smaller self-contained Primary Academy. In this specially designed building pupils have the best of both worlds with a quiet space away from the main academy to grow and develop with facilities specifically designed for younger children, but with the benefits of the resources of the secondary phase. There is a strong leadership team in place within the Primary Academy and staff and pupils enjoy a smaller, community atmosphere. There are good opportunities for professional development across the academy so this is a great option for graduates and those looking to further their career in education.

To apply for this role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. This role is suitable for an ECT looking to gain further classroom experience. The successful candidate will need to complete Philosophy Education registration process and hold a valid Enhanced DBS prior to starting the position.
