Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant with experience leading interventions for groups of children and SATS preparation skills to join a dynamic school community in Hendon, London. This role involves working with small groups of students and providing support to the teacher and room leader in a collaborative classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Group Intervention Leadership: Lead targeted intervention sessions for small groups of Key Stage 2 students, focusing on areas of improvement and SATS preparation.
  • SATS Preparation: Assist in preparing students for SATS exams, implementing effective strategies and resources to support their learning and achievement.
  • Collaborative Classroom Support: Provide support to the teacher and room leader, contributing to the delivery of engaging lessons and activities to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Individualized Support: Offer personalized support to students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods and interventions to meet their specific learning needs.
  • Promote Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, encouraging the active participation and engagement of all students.
  • Partnership with Parents: Establish positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies to support learning at home.

Qualities of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in Intervention Leadership: Demonstrate experience leading interventions or group activities for Key Stage 2 students, with a focus on SATS preparation and academic support.
  • Strong SATS Preparation Skills: Possess knowledge and expertise in preparing students for SATS exams, employing effective strategies to maximize student achievement.
  • Team Player: Work collaboratively with colleagues, including teachers and room leaders, to ensure cohesive support for all students within the classroom.
  • Adaptability: Be adaptable and flexible in responding to the diverse needs of students, adjusting teaching methods and interventions as necessary to meet individual learning requirements.
  • Effective Communication: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating positive interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Experience: Proven experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly within Key Stage 2. Experience leading interventions and SATS preparation sessions is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS Clearance: Hold an Enhanced DBS Clearance on the Child Only Barred List, or be willing to undergo the necessary checks before employment.
