Position Overview: We are currently seeking a nurturing and experienced Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant with expertise in personal care to join a dynamic educational institution in Hendon, London. This role primarily involves one-on-one support, with additional responsibilities supporting the teacher and room leader in the classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care Assistance: Provide personalized care and support to young learners, including assistance with toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the day.
  • Collaborative Classroom Support: Work closely with the teacher and room leader to support the delivery of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities and lessons, fostering a stimulating learning environment for all children.
  • Individualized Support: Implement tailored learning plans and interventions to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring each child's progress and development are supported effectively.
  • Promote Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere within the classroom, celebrating diversity and respecting the individuality of each child.
  • Partnership with Parents: Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and collaborating on strategies to support their learning and development.

Qualities of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in Personal Care: Demonstrate experience and competence in providing personal care assistance to young children, including toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene tasks.
  • Compassionate and Nurturing: Display kindness, compassion, and patience in supporting the individual needs of young learners, fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Team Player: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including teachers and room leaders, to ensure cohesive and coordinated support for all children within the classroom.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of young children and respond appropriately to challenging situations with empathy and understanding.
  • Effective Communication: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling clear and positive interactions with children, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Experience: Proven experience working with young children in an educational setting, preferably within Early Years or Key Stage 1 (KS1). Experience in personal care assistance is essential.
  • Qualifications: Hold relevant qualifications or training in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field. Certification in personal care assistance or first aid training may be advantageous.
  • Enhanced DBS Clearance: Hold an Enhanced DBS Clearance on the Child Only Barred List, or be willing to undergo the necessary checks prior to employment.
