Position Overview: We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join a vibrant educational setting in Hendon, London. The role may involve one-on-one support or working within an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) unit, catering to Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2) students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate seamlessly with classroom educators to provide targeted support for students with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD.
  • Implement personalized learning plans, utilizing innovative teaching methodologies to address the unique requirements of each student.
  • Foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, prioritizing the social and emotional well-being of every child.
  • Actively engage students in stimulating activities, ensuring their participation and enthusiasm in their educational journey.
  • Develop strong partnerships with parents, guardians, and fellow professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

Qualities of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Kind, compassionate, patient, and empathetic towards the diverse needs of students with ASD.
  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within KS1 or KS2.
  • Profound understanding of special educational needs, with specific expertise in supporting individuals with ASD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration with teaching staff, parents, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or training related to special educational needs, with a focus on ASD.
  • Enhanced DBS Clearance.
  • PECs training preferred but not essential; patience and compassion are necessary.
