Job Description:

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced tutor to provide specialised face-to-face support for a Year 8 pupil with identified Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The focus of the role is to deliver alternative provision in English, Maths, and Science, catering to the specific requirements of the pupil.

Responsibilities:

1. Subject-Specific Tutoring:
   - Provide tailored support in English, Maths, and Science to address the academic needs of the Year 8 pupil.
   - Develop and implement individualised lesson plans to accommodate the pupil's learning style and pace.

2. Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support:
   - Understand and address the challenges associated with the pupil's Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
   - Implement strategies to support emotional dysregulation and assist in developing coping mechanisms.

3. Social and Emotional Support:
   - Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, recognizing and addressing the pupil's anxiety and emotional challenges.
   - Implement interventions to enhance social skills and facilitate positive social interactions.

4. Collaboration:
   - Work closely with other educators, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to the pupil's educational and emotional development.
   - Attend relevant meetings to provide updates on the pupil's progress and collaborate on strategies for improvement.

5. Progress Monitoring:
   - Regularly assess the pupil's academic progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
   - Monitor and document behavioral and emotional progress, adjusting support as needed.

Qualifications:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or relevant tutoring qualifications.
- Experience working with pupils with SEN, specifically those with ASD and SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of alternative provision methodologies.

Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to tailor teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward supporting students with emotional challenges.

Working Hours:
- 15 hours per week, distributed among English, Maths, and Science sessions.
- Monday to Friday - 3hrs daily (During school times 09:00 to 16:00)
