Location: North East (occasional travel)

Imperial Recruitment Group are working in partnership with NCG who are looking to appoint a HE Partnership Standardisation Manager

Main Purpose

As a member of NCG Higher Education team, you will work closely with the our partnership providers within the group to ensure that the higher education offer meets the regulatory requirements of the awarding body (NCG) and is carried out in accordance with group and college policies. In addition, you will ensure that all HE activity within our provision align to the group HE strategy with student recruitment, quality improvement, teaching and learning excellence and meaningful student engagement effectively embedded.

As a manager within NCG all managers are required to promote, uphold and demonstrate through personal example, our values and behaviours.

Duties:

Contribute to the successful implementation of the HE strategy at our partnership providers

Maintain an understanding of group, regional and national strategies for higher education and aim to reflect these through our higher education provision.

Create, maintain and develop links with a range of external educational partners and relevant local, regional, national networks, awarding bodies and institutions and represent college higher education as required.

Contribute to higher education quality review, business planning and performance monitoring processes including the timely delivery of accurate data and information to stakeholders.

Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with our partener institutions. This includes the requirement to hold regular meetings, in order to inform, support and guide in all aspects of their higher education provision

Ensure partnerships operate programmes in accordance with awarding body frameworks and regulations including ethics, RPL, staff approval, mitigation and academic misconduct.

Support in the planning and resource and review in relation to programme approvals, periodic review and annual curriculum review on behalf of curriculum areas and support the standardisation of implementation from our partner institutions.

Provide leadership and support in the standardisation in the HE curriculum development process, including, annual planning, strategic planning proposals, programme development, critical read-through to formal approval to meet the requirements of the HE growth strategy and in line with the HE academic framework.

Chair or sit on the approval panels for the NCG approval events and periodic reviews as and when required.

Ensure programme are fully prepared for examination boards and chair examination committees as required.

Lead the activities associated with visits from external examiners and quality assurance bodies including the provision of advice and support to staff involved in the visits.

Implement higher education quality assurance processes including quality and annual review, monitoring performance and securing continuing improvements.

Effectively communicate changes and updates to all HE staff.

Support curriculum areas in implementing and enhancing the student engagement strategy including student forums.

Support admissions, marketing and lecturing staff in the production of timely, accurate and validated public information and external HE recruitment events as required.

Support curriculum areas with student recruitment and enrolment and in developing and implementing robust internal progression processes.

Identify and disseminate best practice in HE assessment, learning and teaching through staff development events including the formation of consistency panels, cross college events and staff conferences.

Identify and deliver well planned and effective higher education training for managers and staff across the college as required.

Ensure that all teaching staff new to HE receive appropriate higher education induction, staff development and support.

Ensure that all higher education staff CVs are available, accurate and up to date.

Ensure that the institutional calendars and partnership HE calendars are aligned to NCG contact hours.

Requirements:

Essential

Qualified teacher (post 16)

Experience of effective people management, conflict management and performance management

Experience of teaching within higher education

Experience of curriculum design and innovation at higher education

Knowledge of higher education funding

Knowledge of drivers for change within in HE

The ability to think and operate at management level

Ability to manage, develop and improve staff performance

Good communication skills, both oral and written

Good planning and organisational skills

Ability to implement activities which result in continuous improvement

Desirable

Relevant postgraduate qualification (ie PG Dip / MA / MSc)

Ability to lead on curriculum change

Financial compliance and audit returns within higher education

Current pedagogical theories

Knowledge of enhancing teaching and learning

Ability to coach staff
