Job Title: Class Teacher
Location: Highgate, Birmingham
Salary: £30,000 to £44,870 plus SEN allowance
Hours: Full time
We are currently seeking a number of SEN Class Teachers to join a specialist provision in Birmingham supporting students aged 2-19 with severe, profound, complex needs and autism.
The role:
As an innovative Class Teacher, you will assist the head teacher in the leadership and management of teaching and learning in the Academy, to achieve the outcomes required by Government regulations and the Academy improvement plan adopted by the board.
You will teach core and creative subjects in an adaptable framework that compliments each pupil’s stage of learning. All staff are trained in behaviour management and augmentative communication techniques.
Experience:
- QTS/QTLS
- Special educational needs experience is desirable although not essential
- Experience of working in a Specialist school, however this is not essential as full training will be provided
- Good Teaching and communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team
- Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment
- Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing students progress
- Ability to engage student in positive enabling relationships
