Are you a passionate and talented Teacher of Design Technology with a Product Design specialism who is looking for a new opportunity to inspire and educate young minds? We are seeking a Teacher of Design Technology to join a school in Southwark, London from January 2024. This is a fantastic chance to contribute to the growth and development of students' Product Design abilities, within a well-established and supportive Design Technology department. If you have a strong knowledge of KS3 and KS4 DT curriculum, live within a commutable distance of Camberwell, London, and have a commitment to nurturing creativity and enthusiasm for Product Design, we would love to hear from you.

As a Teacher of Design Technology, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the personal development of the school’s students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and dynamic lessons that align with the KS3 and KS4 Design Technology curriculum.
  • Developing and implementing schemes of work and lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and abilities of the students.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborating with other members of the DT department to develop and enhance the Product Design curriculum and resources.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, and maintaining effective communication channels.

To be considered for this Design Technology Teacher role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Design Technology at KS3 and KS4 levels, with a track record of achieving excellent results.
  • Strong subject knowledge of Product Design
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that enables all students to thrive.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
