Position Overview: The school are searching for an enthusiastic History Teacher who can engage students with compelling narratives, historical analysis, and critical perspectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching history at various levels, fostering a love for learning, and helping students develop strong research, analytical, and communication skills. The role involves creating interactive lessons that encourage students to explore different historical periods, understand the impact of historical events, and appreciate the relevance of history in today's world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging history lessons that cover a range of historical periods, events, and cultures.
  • Encourage students to think critically, analyze historical sources, and develop well-reasoned arguments based on evidence.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that values diverse perspectives and promotes active participation.
  • Utilize multimedia resources, primary sources, and interactive activities to enhance students' understanding of historical concepts.
  • Support students in developing research skills, historical inquiry, and effective communication through written and oral presentations.
  • Assess student learning through various methods, provide timely feedback, and offer additional support where needed.

Qualifications:

  • QTS (qualified teaching status)
  • Proven experience teaching history at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of historical events, movements, and cultural developments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for history education and the ability to inspire students' curiosity about the past.
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
