SEN Teacher – SEN School– ASAP / January Start

Are you a passionate and committed advocate for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?
NOW Education are seeking a SEN Teacher with Qualified Teacher status to join our dedicated team at a Special school in Newham. You will be responsible for the education and welfare of a designated class or groups of pupils with complex needs on the Autistic Spectrum.
The school are dedicated in providing a nurturing and aspirational environment for children and young people aged 2-19 with autism and learning difficulties. The temporary school will look to transfer to a newly constructed school building that offers a fantastic learning environment designed specifically to meet the needs of autistic children.
Experience working with pupils with SEND, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) is desirable but not essential. What truly matters is your drive, creativity, and passion for teaching and learning as a SEN Teacher.
As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work across the key stages and teach children aged 4-14 years who work across a pathway system based on their individual needs. The school are committed to providing the support and resources necessary to help you thrive in your role.
Key Responsibilities – SEN Teacher:
· SEN Teacher
· Support children with SLD, autism, and complex needs, providing individualized attention and care.
· Deliver a curriculum tailored to the specific needs of our students through our pathways approach.
· Collaborate with a team of skilled teaching assistants, to ensure each child receives the support they require.
· Assist students with personal care needs, showing a willingness to provide necessary support.
· Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging the social and emotional development of each child.
Requirements – SEN Teacher:
· Must have QTS
· Experience working with pupils with SEND, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) is desirable.
· A genuine passion for working with children and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
· Familiarity with Makaton and previous experience of PECS would be advantageous.
· A willingness to assist with personal care requirements.
