As a Deputy Room Leader, you will play a crucial role in our Canterbury center. You will assist the Room Leader in supervising the daily operations of our vibrant and engaging learning spaces for children. Your dedication and passion for early childhood education will help shape the experiences of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Room Leader in planning and delivering a stimulating and age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Provide guidance and support to a team of enthusiastic educators.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Collaborate with parents and families to ensure open communication and build strong partnerships.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Continuously assess and monitor children's progress, documenting observations and implementing individualized plans.

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in early childhood education (e.g., Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, showcasing strong leadership abilities.
  • A comprehensive understanding of child development theories and practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A nurturing and empathetic approach to working with young children.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to childcare.
