Banana Moon Day Nursery is delighted to share the news of our brand new nursery in Sunderland, which will be opening in the Summer of 2024. We are currently looking for an exceptional Senior Nursery Manager to join us on our exciting journey. As the Senior Nursery Manager, you will play a vital role in establishing and managing the nursery, and supporting the directors to open additional settings throughout the North East. You will be responsible for providing exceptional care and education to children, while creating nurturing and supportive environments for the children and staff team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the nurseries, including building a positive reputation within the local area, administrative tasks and staff deployment.
  • Embed the bespoke, play based, Banana Moon Curriculum
  • Be responsible for leading and implementing the nursery operations, which will involve the selection and onboarding of team members.
  • Build strong relationships with families, fostering open communication and supporting their child's development milestones.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all staff and children in the nurseries.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early years education, along with excellent leadership and management skills. You should have a thorough understanding of early years frameworks and regulations, and be passionate about providing the best possible care and education for young children. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with staff, families, the Banana Moon Franchise team, and other external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A full and relevant level 3 or above qualification as defined by the Department of Education on the Early Years Qualifications List.
  • DBS enhanced disclosure within the child workforce sector
  • Pediatric 12hr First Aid certificate
  • Safeguarding training and qualification
  • Minimum of 3 year’s post qualifying experience
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and statutory requirements
  • A proven history of successfully managing settings to achieve a 'good' or 'outstanding' grading.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants must hold a GCSE or equivalent Mathematics qualification, or a commitment to undergo training for the qualification within two years of starting the position.
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
