We are looking for enthusiastic and vibrant maths/science/English tutors to join our growing team. You can choose to tutor as many or as few evenings as you wish provided you are able to tutor the same evenings each week. We are looking for tutors who are available from now until June 2027 at least.

We are looking for enthusiastic tutors, who ideally would be able to tutor both maths and English or science up to GCSE level, possibly including some primary & 11+ tuition. No previous experience is necessary as full training is provided. We are also interested in candidates who would like a mix of tutor support and tutoring.

The roles for weekday evenings from Monday to Thursday after schools’ finish until around 8pm. We are fully open throughout all school holidays, including the long summer break. The exception is over Christmas and New Year, when we close for around two weeks. Successful candidates can choose to work from one evening per week up to four, providing excellent flexibility.

Various sessions are available, and applications are accepted to work around your availability. Once agreed, our tutors work in the same settings on the same evenings each week, to ensure the students have consistency and also the tutors know when and where they will be tutoring. Our current opening hours are as follows

5 pm to 8pm Monday - Friday

10 am- 4 pm Saturday / Sunday

The rate available is dependent on the individual and the role and is reviewed regularly. During the training, the rate is £12 per hour. The time taken for training very much depends on the individual. The minimum starting rate for tutors, after training has been completed, is £12 per hour rising quickly to a maximum of £20 per hour, reflecting the standard of tuition and number of students in each session. The average rate over the academic year will be in the region of £16 to £18 per hour.

For all tutors, we require a minimum of a grade B/6 in Maths, English & Science at GCSE level and over age 18 (Ofsted requirement). Would suit someone who has completed their A levels as a minimum. It suits those taking a gap year, current university students and recent graduates, along with more experienced tutors. Please send your exam grades with your application as those who have not met this requirement, will automatically be rejected. Ideally, we are looking for tutors who can work in at least two/three evenings per week in possibly more than one venue, so being able to drive is a distinct advantage or who can travel. The venues will be agreed in advance and will be the same every week unless we have other staff absence, which is rare.

Applicants must ideally be familiar of the current UK National Curriculum and exam system within England, although this will be covered during training. Confidentiality and children’s safeguarding are an integral to this role, as is a professional approach to work and an ability to multi-task. Applicants ideally will be flexible as additional hours may be required to cover for other members of the team, though these are optional. A fully enhanced DBS check is also part of our requirements.

All our tutors will be required to undergo Safeguarding training, with CPD accredited courses. We also offer up to eighty other courses that are also CPD accredited to all our tutors and admin personnel.
