Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging drama lessons to primary and secondary students, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies and resources.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore and express their creativity.
  • Develop students' acting skills, improvisation techniques, and confidence through a range of drama activities and performances.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate drama across the curriculum and support cross-disciplinary projects.
  • Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their performance and understanding of drama concepts.
  • Organize and coordinate drama productions, showcasing students' talents and fostering a sense of community within the school.
  • Stay updated with current trends, methodologies, and resources in drama education and incorporate them into lesson planning and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience teaching drama to primary and/or secondary students.
  • Strong knowledge of drama techniques, acting methods, and theatrical concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and connect with students.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging and well-structured drama lessons for diverse learning abilities and age groups.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm to inspire a passion for drama in students and develop their overall confidence and self-expression.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to effectively plan and coordinate drama activities and productions.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in education.
